Development and manufacture
Most of this work is decided by the tooling, so that is where our engineering effort goes. A progressive die that runs a terminal at forty strokes a minute for eight million pieces is a different design problem from one that runs ten thousand, and our tool room builds for the volume actually forecast rather than to a generic standard. Die trials are simulated first, so the first steel cut is close to the last.
Wire drawing, cold heading, thread rolling, spring coiling, stamping, tube welding and mesh weaving all run here, with heat treatment and plating in the same building. Keeping surface treatment in house matters more than it sounds: hydrogen embrittlement in a high-strength bolt is a plating problem that appears as a fastener failure, and a single owner is the only reliable way to close that loop.

High-strength fasteners
Bolts, nuts and washers in property classes 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9, including structural, flange and socket types to metric and imperial standards.
Springs
Compression, extension and torsion springs in music wire, oil-tempered and stainless material, shot peened and stress relieved where fatigue life demands it.
Precision metal stampings
Terminals, spring contacts, shields and brackets on progressive dies, in copper alloy, stainless and pre-plated strip.
Welded steel tube and sections
Round, square and rectangular hollow sections, ERW welded and cold sized, in structural and mechanical grades.
Wire mesh
Welded and woven mesh for fencing, screening and guarding, in plain, galvanised and PVC-coated finishes.
Construction steel connectors
Joist hangers, anchor plates, tie rods and post bases, hot-dip galvanised and load rated.
